Objectives of the roundtable

The objective of this exchange of views is to identify the challenges and priorities for Latin American countries, and in particular Uruguay and Paraguay, related to the climate and digital transitions. Discussions on these matters are expected to be held from an economic and financial sector stand-point. Speakers will be encouraged to express their views on the financing needs involved, and the obstacles to be overcome, in particular to develop the role of the financial industry in these transitions.

Points for discussion

  1. What are the main challenges (economic, social, …) and priorities of Uruguay and Paraguay (infrastructures, education…) regarding the green and digital transitions in the current context of low growth, upraise of inflation, deglobalization and the ongoing development efforts?
  2. How are these two countries addressing these financing investment needs? What are your expectations from the financial industry, and in particular the European financial industry? What role are playing EU and global financial players in these green and digital transitions? What could be improved?
