Objectives

The session aims to identify the stakes and levers of a possible in-depth revision of the securitisation framework in the EU and, more importantly, to identify the conditions for building a strong consensus across the board.

Points of discussion

  • What are the main regulatory challenges in the EU securitization market, and how can they be addressed to foster growth and innovation?
  • How does securitization contribute to capital management and liquidity strategies for banks and insurers, and what improvements are needed in the current framework? How can securitization be leveraged to support the EU’s green and digital transitions, as well as funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)?
  • What should be the main headlines of a policy agenda on securtitisation and what are the conditions to build a strong consensus across the board in the EU?
