Session overview

Objectives

This roundtable brings together global and national supervisors, leading insurers and reinsurers and an advisory perspective to assess how the sector can stay resilient in a polycrisis. It will assess where the principal transmission channels now lie across investments, reinsurance and operational infrastructure, and how supervision should adapt across the global–EU–national continuum. The discussions will also focus on current prudential and operational-resilience frameworks strike the right balance between robustness, simplicity, comparability and the sector’s capacity to finance the economy.

Points of discussion

  1. What are the main features and magnitude of the most concerning risks: nature, materiality and interconnection

  2. How to best address these risks: regulation, supervision and internal risk management
